Its Time to Party, Abba Party

How can this not be fun?

Ok, the last few weeks have been so crazy!!! So it was great when I got an opportunity to have an Abba You Can Dance House Party to celebrate the new Abba: You Can Dance Wii game. What you may not know about me is that I was raised by a bit of a disco queen so I when I was quite little I learned and loved Abba (and Donna Summers, the Commodores, etc;). So I was stoked when they had a minor resurgence with the A*Teens (My niece and nephew listened to them) in the late 90’s and then again with Mama Mia on Broadway. And yes, I have Mamma Mia! on dvd;).

After falling in love with Ubisoft’s Smurf Dance Party, I couldn’t wait to get together with a couple of friends to check out the Abba dancing experience. My 2 friends had very different exposure to both Abba and the various dance video games. Mrs. LeftyBrown was super familiar with both Abba and the dance games while Sara was the complete opposite. I had a ball introducing Sara to both experiences;). It was so much fun and we even got NerdDad to join us for a couple of songs.

But onto a little of the game specifics. Up to 4 people can play at once. Something that makes this really interesting it that sometimes there is 1 on screen person/dance that everyone does, sometimes 2 and sometimes 4. So it ends up that everyone can actually be doing a separate dance which can be hilarious in and of itself. At one point a couple of us were trying to dodge each other;).

Thank you to Ubisoft for sponsoring this blog post. Please click here to learn more about Ubisoft. I was selected for this sponsorship by the Clever Girls Collective. All opinions are my own.

With 26 songs there are a lot of choices that will give us many more hours of fun than just 1 night. You can choose between fast and slow along with varying difficulty levels. There are even quite a few of Abba’s lesser known songs.

Overall we all loved this game. The 1 thing that was a little disappointing is that the game only uses the remote but not the joystick. All the other games that I have played on Wii have always used both. It isn’t horrible but just a little disappointing.  But I like the game in spite of it!

So have you tried this yet? Any other dance games you just love? I want to know!!!!
