CES 2014 is coming!!! And so many companies are revving up to tell us all about the products they are planning on showing us in Las Vegas. Some companies, like Whirlpool, are even giving us sneak peeks. Last year Whirlpool made my round up of CES news that I saw out on the Internet (since I didn’t make it last year) so I am stoked to go check out their booth with my own little eyes!!! Building on 2013’s Whirlpool® 20/20: A Look Ahead, Whirlpool® is back in the MommyTech Zone showcasing the evolution of the kitchen and beyond at the 2014 Consumer Electronics Show! So far I know about a few things that they will be showing at CES, some concept only and some will be available this year! I absolutely love concept items that are discussed at CES! Sometimes you get to see something concrete and sometimes you don’t but they are almost always cool. Whirpool is going to be talking about connected appliances–it is what they call a “concept in development”. It focuses on connecting your appliances to you, to each other and your whole family by app. There is also an interactive cooktop that is a concept. This is an innovative cooktop that connects to the world digitally and further builds into making your kitchen the center of your home in all ways. I love it because tying it to the internet means it is tied to my recipes on my own blog and all my social media. No more juggling my tablet and phone while cooking to stay connected. Not everything is concept! Designer Duets will be debuting at CES 2014! This is all about expression and having appliances that fit your look. They have the Adaptive Wave Technology so that it selects the cycle your clothes need to keep them looking great. It also has the Advanced Moisture Sensing technology so it dries your clothes until they are done and not any longer! But the magic of this beyond the appliance abilities is the bold and beautiful designs you can get to compliment your design. And they are giving away a set during CES!!  Throughout the week of CES, consumers will have the chance to win a custom laundry pair of their own with the You Be The Designer Sweepstakes!  One lucky grand-prize-winner takes home the very first Duet® Designer pair from Whirlpool®. You can enter here for a chance to win.

These are just a few of the things that Whirlpool will be exhibiting at CES 2014. I can’t wait to go and check it out! If you aren’t going to CES 2014 you don’t have to be left out. They have a site set up with all the latest devices and news coming out of the CES 2014 show!

  1. I would love to have a kitchen with innovative appliances that use very little energy. I would also love to have a self cleaning sink and self cleaning microwave

  2. With two sons (and a husband who tinkers with his car, plays sports, etc), I would love to make laundry easier and be able to get our clothes as clean as possible. All the Whirlpool appliances sound wonderful because the less time I have to spend cleaning, cooking, etc is more time with the family.

  3. The refrigerator with a sound system is neat, I enjoy listening to music when I cook. I think it would be neat to have a TV too because sometimes I’m watching a movie in the family room and it would be nice to be able to continue watching it when I’m in the kitchen cooking

  4. I would LOVE a fancy new washer and dryer set! I’ve been saying for a while now that I’m afraid our current ones sound like they could die at any time and my dryer eats all the buttons off my cardigans!

  5. My idea for the future of my home: I would actually like to own a home of my own, firstly, and if I did have a home, I would want solar panels on the roof, and all energy-saving appliances in the kitchen, laundry room, sensor faucets throughout, excellent venting system over the gas range, and a nice open layout that makes moving around in the house, a breeze 🙂

  6. I have always wondered why the washing machine doesn’t have an integrated detergent dispenser. It’s annoying to have the box or jug laying around, and honestly the machine is probably more accurate at determining amount to add based on weight of the drum contents than the majority of consumers.

  7. I think for the future, it would be great to have my on line recipe right at my finger tips in an easily accessed area. Maybe a screen right on my refrigerator since for me, that is right in the middle of my cooking area. Right now I use my iPhone and have to constantly keep pushing the home button when it goes black while I stir, or boil, etc.

  8. We recently moved into our new home and I have so many ideas for it including knocked down a wall between the kitchen and dining room, removing the current center island and replacing it with something more function, replacing the microwave and obtaining a larger freezer!

  9. I would love my future home to have very interactive appliance. Such as the fridge can tell me what I need from the market. A cook top that shows me my next step on a certain recipe, and a dryer that fold laundry for me.

  10. I would love a bigger kitchen. I have a galley kitchen at this time. We are in need of a dishwasher too. I love the idea of a bottom freezer frig too.

  11. My plan for the future of my home is to upgrade appliances and systems in our home as often as possible and affordable to take advantage of the new technology and efficiency.

  12. I’d love a computer screen in my kitchen, right above the counters. This would be great for reviewing recipes for when I’m cooking.

  13. my future home would have solar panels and a whole house fan. I also would like to start a compost pile and a garden that I would water with rain water stored from the winter .Also new smart appliances of course and a kitchen remodel .

  14. For my Future home, I would really be thrilled with a rustic style kitchen with cutting edge new equipment cleverly disguised as antiques.

  15. I would love to have microsuede sectional sofa, a fireplace, a kitchen island, granite countertops and a loft!

  16. This from my husband – who does our laundry — he would like a stackable washer and dryer that has an option to transfer the clothes to the dryer (remotely or automatically) so that an extra trip isn’t necessary! I think that’s pretty awesome. One stop laundry!!

  17. I want to have a self cleaning microwave and a refrigerator that can tell me when that yogurt on the back shelf has gone bad

  18. I would like to have an interactive home that can audibly read off my daily checklist to me in each room that I enter.

  19. eco-friendly appliances and materials, can run by computer remotely (for example, turn on oven so warm when get home to put supper in)

  20. I’d like a connected oven that sends a notification o my phone when a cooking timer or kitchen timer has finished. Something like… New Alert “Whirlpool Oven: 2 minutes remaining on your kitchen timer.”

  21. My future house would not only have a fridge that keeps track of the food inside, makes a grocery list, and THEN does the shopping for me! That’d be amazing 🙂 In the distant future, I’m looking forward to replicators that make everything as you need it and reabsorbs the waste when you’re done! 😀

  22. I would love to have a timer on my oven that would ring my cell phone. I’m often in another area of the house or yard and can’t hear it.

  23. My future house will have a very open floor plan. Lots of light colors, white and different shades of blue. A huge kitchen (even though I’m not much of a cook yet) and most importantly a very large master suite with a big enough closet for all my clothes.

  24. I want to see more energy efficient appliances in the future for my home and ones that can clean themselves.

  25. My future home will have these wonderful appliances-I love the interaction! My appliances work well, but are almost 20 years old! Time to update!

  26. I would Love a kitchen with a built in backup generator that kicks in when power is out and a refridgerator that remembers expiration dates and alerts you when items need to be replaced

  27. I would like energy efficient appliance and lights in our house
I would love to have heated floors in every room of our house

  28. We really need new appliances. Our refrigerator is on its last leg and we need a new stove, our oven is not working. I would love some new modern energy efficient appliances.

  29. I would love to have appliances that are networked and controlled via smartphone (alerts, warnings, etc..).

  30. I would like to have energy efficient appliances and lights in my house.
I would like to have heated floors in every room of my house.

  31. For the future of my home, I would love to refit my kitchen and laundry room with energy efficient appliances.

  32. I would love to own our own home in the near future. I would love to have a home with 3 bedrooms so that my girls can have a room of their own. I would love to have lots of space so that everything is not so cluttered as it is now in our apartment. thank you!

  33. Live chickens living below the fridge. When they are ready they show up in the freezer ready to cook

  34. I would love to have solar panels, heated floors and all energy effecient lights and appliances!!!

    rachelmarietravis at gmail dot com

  35. I’d love to have talking cookbooks that you can give oral commands to, like “wait” (while you measure an ingredient). Thanks for the giveaway!

  36. I am so in awe of the cook anywhere surface. Like you, I’ve always got the tablet in the kitchen. It would be super cool to have the capability to browse integrated into my cooktop. My home of the future will definitely include appliances that “learn” my needs and make recommendations to make my life easier and more energy-efficient.

  37. I’m looking forward to a house aware of who’s in it and how bright they like it in the morning, how dark they like their coffee or tea, and what temperature they like the bathroom floor before they step out of bed. 🙂

  38. To me, the amazing appliance only facilitates a happy family, and a great place to hang our family’s mantra: “No other success can compensate for failure in the home.”

  39. My future home needs a much quieter ice maker. Our fridge doesn’t have a hook-up, so we have a free standing ice maker that rattles. A quieter one would make for much more pleasant entertaining and a quieter daily life!

  40. id like the future to be where ur Fridge can sense when someone comes up and alerts u to what a security system would do and u could program it to where when ur gone it would alert u that it sensed movement and where u could program the washer from ur phone or computer and have a handle come out that would be placed on a sensor were the clothes would be and put in the washer and wash it that would be an amazing gift for all

  41. I’ve been amazed at the innovations related to the use of technology in the home over the past few years. I love that I can control almost everything from my phone. My only idea for the future – a way to hand write the grocery list on the side of the fridge and pull it up on my smartphone. Everybody adds to our list and half the time I forget to take it with me.

  42. I’d love a smart setting on my dishwasher — one where I could do just a few pots and pans if necessary!

  43. I’d love a slow cooker that worked with me. I am a full time, working mom, so a slow cooker is a great tool. But even the ones with the timers, can leave my food a bit dried out by the time I get home. I’d love one that would start cooking with enough time to be done by the time I get home, not just on warm, like the one I currently have.

  44. I would love to have energy effecient appliances that are more suited for people like me who have trouble standing for long periods of time.

  45. In my future home i envision the possibility of having a kitchen island that reseeds into the floor that would be amazing!

  46. I would love a itemize fridge to put in dates of items and see what is past their date of expiration.

  47. the future of my home is prolly falling to the ground.it is rotten in the floors and the ceiling leaking.i would like to build a home but cant afford to right now.but i hope to seal the roof and paint and fix the floor.i am greatful we have a warm place to lay our head and call home.

  48. All of my appliances would be more energy efficient and all would have a touchscreen interface along with being able to be controlled from an app on my phone.

  49. I am actually in the process of getting my current home ready for sale. My goal is to WAY downsize into a tiny home of no more than 600 sq ft. I currently live in a 1200 sq ft house, so the future is small! LOL

  50. My future home has a single appliance that is both a washer and dryer – toss in the clothes, come back and they are washed and dried. It also has a self cleaning tub/shower/toilet!

  51. love to have a vacume cleaner that did not require me to take it apart to replace the belt, should be a simple one step replacement

  52. My idea for the future of my home would be a completely renovated kitchen. With a lot more counter space, and a new, more modern refrigerator and oven. Thank you for hosting this wonderful giveaway!

  53. I would love to see everything easy to clean and low maintenance! I really need an oven/stove that cut off automatically so I don’t burn things because I am too A.D.D. to remember it when I walk away! Do they have that already? My husband goes to house fires all the time because of overcooked food.

  54. I would love an oven that senses when food is done and rings a bell..I cant tell you how many times I have ever forgotten to set the timer.

  55. It would be fantastic if the the sink could be equipped with a device that could recapture the gray water and reuse it for non-potable purposes, under cabinet uv systems to kill bacteria on cutting/prep areas below and a beverage dispenser built into the fridge (like water dispenser) so my kids aren’t always opening and closing the door to get a drink (and leaving the milk out)

  56. If I owned my own home, I would love to have heated floors in my bathroom and a small electric fireplace in every bedroom, a large kitchen with two ovens and built in freezer in the cabinets

    tbarrettno1 at gmail dot com

  57. I really just want an up to date kitchen with new energy saving appliances. It would be wonderful to have a fridge that had an ice maker 🙂

  58. It’d be great to have one of those vacuums in our home that you attach a hose to the wall and it brings all the dirt down to one central location.

  59. I would love anything that was self-cleaning. Ovens can do it – why not refrigerators? (While we’re at it, why not floors and walls? Hey, a girl can dream!) I also like the idea of a refrigerator that could track foods I need to buy, and foods that are about to expire.

  60. I’d love to have appliances that not only have great looking easy to clean finishes but ones that stay clean and resist spills and fingerprints.
