55 years ago yesterday (April 18th) Albert Einstein died. At the time it appears that the press pretty much stayed out of the family’s mourning process but there was 1 photographer there. Life Magazine’s Robert Morse went a took a series of pictures but Life only published one. But now there is a gallery online to see. I wonder if a mind like Einstein’s was around much less passed away if the press would notice. In the day of Paris, Lindsay and Brittany would we know if we lost such a true intellectual treasure?

Go check out the pics, very interesting.

Startled By Your Noisy Kids?

Studies are showing that omega-3 essential fatty acids (such as those found in salmon) help mice not react to loud noises. In all seriousness they hope it will help people who have information-processing problems such as schizophrenia; bipolar, obsessive-compulsive, and attention-deficit hyperactivity disorders; Huntington’s disease; and other afflictions of the nervous system. I found it interesting that the related compounds found in flax seed oil and vegan sources didn’t seem to have the same effect. But DHA and EPA seemed to do the trick.

I know that I can get overwhelmed by a lot of loud chaos myself so I am going to have try to eat more salmon for my own peace of mind!
