This story is a beautifully written story of a young girl who is moving away from all that she has known. As she gets to know all the people in her new town she starts to realize that moving might not be the worst thing to do. If you have read any of the American Girl books you will love Dawn Chandler. The greatest part of this novel for me is the way that Eliza is able to weave Christianity and a good story together so effortlessly
Nerdpud feels that this book is very relatable to her own experiences. And I loved this book because of how well it is able to get a young girls struggles and emotions across. Nerdster says that it was nice reading a girl story that wasn’t a love story.

This week’s Minecraft post also a Harry Potter enriched Potions class. But this time I am going to talk the advanced N.E.W.T level stuff. For this I am going to talk like you already passed the O.W.L exams. If you haven’t please take it first. I am going to talk about the ways that you can modify your potions to make them have the same effect but with a different dispersal way. Also I am going to tell you how to make your potions last for longer and how to turn them bad. To turn most helpful potions bad like a potion of strength to a potion of weakness you just brew in a spider eye after the starting potion is brewed before you put on any effects
Splash Potions are really helpful because then you could splash a potion of harming(brew an awkward potion with glistering melon(which makes potion of healing) then with a fermented spider eye) on an enemy and they would be really hurt. To make any potion a splash potion you just brew in a gunpowder. then you can throw one and it will splash onto any mob that is where you tossed the potion.
lengthening Potions will make them work on you for a longer time. Like if you used a potion of night vision on yourself then you could make it up to 8 minutes long. The way to make any potion longer is to brew glowstone into it. For some potions you can repeat this to 3 times making the duration longer each time.

This going with the theme of tools! It is armor. Most items that are used in in tools are used in armor because of that I am going to assume you have read my previous post on tools if not here it is. I am going to show you the differences in the armor items and the tool items. Armor can be made with most ores the major exception that proves the rule is cobblestone that can’t be used to make armor. Also how to make the different pieces of armor which is first.
Helmet: This is made with a row of your material across the top and in the middle left and right squares. Leaving the middle center and bottom row empty.
ChestPlate: your material everywhere on the crafting table but the top middle.
Leggings: This has a silly name because it is really pants. It is made the same way as a helmet plus in the bottom left and right.
Boots: This has the least materials with only 4 middle left and right and bottom left and right
When I say the word material you fill it in with the metal of your choice. You can only use metal that are better than cobblestone so iron and up. Also there is a special type of armor called chain mail that you can’t make but you can find it in dungeons, villages, and mineshafts. To make armor you need 24 items of your choice. When making your first iron armor I suggest you should get a 64 (The most you can stack in Minecraft) of iron because it uses a lot of your first iron to make armor. I don’t make gold armor much but it can be done for enchanting. If you are doing anything dangerous or important I suggest using Diamond armor. It is the strongest, most protective, and the longest lasting. A sign of people who are experienced is lots of Diamonds in every thing just like some one who is rich has lots of gold. You put on armor is pt your armor in your back pack the open it if you look next to the picture of your guy there is row of spots that look like pieces of armor. Put the armor there and you will be wearing it.

Minecraft biomes are different lands like deserts and plains. Each biome has its own landscape with different resources you can collect. I’m just going to talk about common ones.
Plains: My favorite is plains which has weeds and some flowers. All animals live there but I wouldn’t suggest living there without woods near by. It is one of my favorites because you have a nice flat landscape to build on. You don’t have to clear out woods or dig away land.
Woods: Woods are a necessity because you need wood to make almost anything. You can find most animals and different types of wood here so it is a good place to live.
Desert: Deserts are just sand and cactus and lots of it. You can use cactus in some types of traps.
Savannah: Savannahs are brown but the same as plains.
Jungle: Jungles are great for wood and have cacao beans for cookies.It’s a great place to live but there isn’t a lot of room for big houses.
Those were the common ones here is one of the small ones.
Mushroom Island has lots of unique things such as Mooshrooms, Giant Mushrooms, and mycelium dirt.Not a great place to live because there are no trees.
Here are the sub biomes that just change the landscape of the common biomes
Caves: Caves are big caverns that have ores and lava pools. If you dig down anywhere you could find a cave.
Beaches: Beaches are strips of sand by water. Rivers can be found at the of biomes and they have beaches on them. These have fish like any other water source.
Hills: Hills can be on any biome. The biomes are the same but on hills.
