Tyson® Gluten Free Chicken Nuggets, Yes Gluten Free!

Tysongfreenuggets

(I received compensation from Tyson® Foods for the purpose of this review. This post was made possible by Mom Spark Media. Thoughts are my own.)

My poor kids. A few years ago I and my husband went gluten free due to gluten intolerance. And while I think it has been over all better for my kids too I still feel bad. Why? Because on my lazy nights, where it is just me and the kids, I can’t make them the fun, easy, treat-like meals I used to make. A big one is chicken nuggets. I didn’t do it all the time but when the husband is working late, I love popping in nuggets and fries into the oven for an easy dinner! But alas, being gluten free means those nights were always gluten free pasta and alfredo sauce. But no longer thanks to the opportunity I received to try Tyson® Gluten Free Chicken Nuggets!

Tyson Foods has created a fulfillment of every gluten free child’s dream! You all know that I loved the Tyson® Gluten Free Grilled & Ready® Chicken Breast Fillets for great family meals and that they are gluten free. But I had no idea that Tyson Foods has the line of Gluten Free Chicken Nuggets and Chicken Breast Strips!

Tyson® Gluten Free Chicken Nuggets are 100% white meat and all natural like you would expect with Tyson Foods. They are also super easy to make even though they are gluten free! Just throw them on a baking sheet for about 12 minutes with a flip half way through. That is it! And they come out as perfect chicken nuggets!

No sub-par texture or taste that some gluten free products have. My 10 year old daughter declared them better than McDonalds nuggets! The kids didn’t realize they were gluten free and wanted to know what I was going to get to eat for dinner. When I said I was having nuggets and stars they were concerned that I was going to make myself sick. I almost had to show them package to prove that these were gluten free.

WP_20140323_17_24_40_ProI have to say a last thing that really impressed me about Tyson® Gluten Free Chicken Nuggets. It was the price. I was expecting them to be about 10 dollars and at my Target they were about $6.50. And that is for enough nuggets to feed my 4 kids and myself. We paired them with Target’s star tater tots and broccoli. So our entire meal was about $10 and that is cheaper than fast food but actually gluten free too!!! Did I mention that the tater tots cook at the same temperature so I could make everything at once;). Anything to save time!

So the NerdFamily ruling is 10 stars! We highly recommend them and will be getting them again! This is a kids pleaser and a mom one too;).

Panasonic Link2Cell & Saving Calls! (A Giveaway Too)

Panasoniclink2cell

I know I am not alone with the modern issues of cell phones and home phones. I mean, first off I have too many separate phones to track! Secondly, I don’t get good cell reception everywhere in my house.
This was a huge issue when my dad was sick and when he died. I was getting calls from my step mom on my cell and in order to have a conversation I would have to go outside or kick all my kids out of the living room because that was the only way I could get a signal! But that is no longer my issue at home because technology (and Panasonic) has a solution.

Life is busy for everyone so dinner can’t take very long. But being gluten-free, it can be hard to find pre-made or quick recipes. When I walk through stores like Sam’s Club I tend to see a lot of pre-made and frozen food that I just can’t eat because it isn’t gluten-free. Even pre-made meats often have gluten in the seasonings. So I was stoked to get an opportunity to pick up some of Tyson Gluten Free Grilled & Ready Chicken Breast Fillets in the freezer section! And I developed a super yummy and super quick gluten-free recipe to go with them. It is super easy but there are a few things going on at one time. But hey, you gotta multi-task if you want a fabulous and nutritious meal on the table in 15 minutes. This is also a great meal to bring the kids in to have help you!

Sam's Club Freezer Section

Before we jump into the recipe! The Tyson Gluten Free Grilled & Ready Chicken Breast Fillets comes frozen but is already seasoned and is so good! It is in the freezer section at many Sam’s Clubs right now. If you want to try it out before you buy it, you may have an opportunity! Many Sam’s Clubs are doing a sampling of Tyson Gluten Free Grilled & Ready Chicken Breast Fillets March 6, 2014 and March 8, 2014. You can check to make sure your Sam’s Club is included.

Spring Chicken and Grits
Serves: 6 Time: 15 minutes
Ingredients:
6 Tyson Gluten Free Grilled & Ready Chicken Breast Fillets
16 oz Sliced Mushrooms
1 lb Asparagus cut into 1 inch pieces
1 tbl butter
1 tbl olive oil
1/2 tsp paprika
2 cloves chopped garlic
1/4 tsp black pepper
1 1/2 tsp salt
7 servings Quick Grits (according to package instructions)
1 cup of shredded cheese

Instructions:

Ok, this seems like a lot but I am going to walk you through, step by step, getting this all on the table. So we are going to basically have 3 streams of action going but I promise, you can do it!

1. Put 3 Tyson Gluten Free Grilled & Ready Chicken Breast Fillets on a plate and cover them with a paper towel. Put them in the microwave for 4 1/2 minutes.

2. Put 1 tablespoon of both olive oil and butter in a skillet. Turn the heat to medium and drop your sliced mushrooms in, stirring every 45 seconds or so.

3. Turn on the water and salt in a pot for your instant grits and bring it to a boil.

4. After the mushrooms are cooking for about 2 minutes dump your asparagus in. Stir it frequently.

5. About this time take your plate of chicken out of the microwave and put in your second set of 3 Tyson Gluten Free Grilled & Ready Chicken Breast Fillets. Cover with a paper towel and microwave as the last set.

6. Now the water should be boiling and dump your grits in, stirring as you do it. Cover, reduce the temperature to low, cook for 5 minutes while stirring as needed.

7. While your mushrooms and asparagus are still cooking, cut up your chicken into cubes.

8. We are almost done, hang in there! Toss 2 cloves of chopped garlic (or 2 teaspoons of the prechopped stuff), 1/2 teaspoon of paprika, 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper and 1 1/2 teaspoons of salt into your mushrooms and asparagus.

9. As soon as your grits are done slowly stir shredded cheese into them.

10. Stir your chicken into the asparagus and mushroom mixture.

11. Serve by placing grits on the plate and top with the chicken mixture!
