Bed Bouquet Review and Giveaway

I admit it, I like my bedroom to smell nice. The problem is that you can’t leave candles going all night and the pillow mists can stain your sheets and pillows. Also the mists can also have an alcohol after smell (which drives NerdDad nuts).

This is why I was very interested to try Secret Scentsation’s new Bed Bouquet product. It is really rather simple to use. It is a thin little packet that has little vent holes on one side and an adhesive strip on the other. You just place it in between the mattress pad and the sheet. Then stick it to the mattress pad. The amount of smell you desire will effect the placement: more smell put it under your pillow, less down by the foot of your bed. We used the linen scent and it was very nice! They come in 4 scents: Citrus, Lavender & Vanilla, Linen Fresh, Jasmine & White Rose.

Furniture Moving Made Easy

NerdDad and I just finished painting the office and these were a huge help! We have an l-shaped desk that had to stay in the office and then we had 2 filing cabinets and a cabinet that had to be moved out. For less than $10 bucks these saved us back aches, sprains and more! We have used these to move furniture to vacuum, mop and just rearrange. If you don’t have a set on hand it is totally worth it!

Best $20 I Ever Spent!

A couple of years ago NerdDad bought me this Brother P-Touch PT-1900 Electronic Labeling System from Costco. This is the best $20 we have ever spent for any kind of home organization tool. I can label everything! We put those large plastic drawers in the pantry and labeled them. I label the bins and boxes in the garage. I label folders in the desk drawer. I labeled my cooler when we went to the Fresno Fair. I even labeled my basketball hoop when I lent it to church.

You can get refills, change the font and even the orientation! So if you don’t have one, go and get one!

Oliver’s Labels Review

I have lots of kids, which means I have lots of stuff that I have to keep track of so we don’t lose it all. So I was very excite to check out a sampling of labels from Oliver’s Labels. These are awesome!

Now one of the things motherhood has taught me is that the kids can lose everything. Shoes because they all took them off to run through the grass, Cubby vests because they get hot at Awana, not to mention backpacks and the such. Previously my strategy has been a black permanent marker on tags and that hasn’t worn so well. It doesn’t take long for the writing to get blurry between washing, sweating and being dragged on the ground. That is why I love these labels! They are clear and tough, extremely tough. They are even pretty water resistant so they work for water bottles and beach towels. I really love the shoe labels because they don’t slip and are clear to ready! I also love the fact you aren’t force to be cutesy, you can get you labels done in all kinds of cool fashion prints.

I really like the Found It Code. This is a free feature that Oliver’s Labels offers everyone. They print a code on each label and a website. If someone finds 1 of your things they just go to the website and input your code. Oliver’s Labels then sends you an email. I love that for security’s because walking around with a fob that has your name, address, and phone number makes me nervous.

Now I admit that I am a cheapskate. I have seen these before but never bought them. Part of the reason why is that I never saw the prices. It is not nearly as pricey I would have once thought. It would also make a great present. You can get a mixed pack for less than $30. And to sweeten the pot, Oliver’s Labels has provided a coupon code for 10% off! Just use “LABELEVERYTHING” before June 31, 2009 (when it expires;).

So go, check it out and let me know what you think!

Pledge Multi-Surface Cleaner Review and Giveaway!

I have a new cleaning love. It is Pledge Multi Surface in the Lavendar Scent. I got a bottle of this to review and I thought it was going to be fine but not impressive. Well, I was shocked. I went from the piano to the tv to the bookshelf quickly and without having to change cleaners (which I love). This isn’t just a polish but actually a cleaner that really gets the dirt and residue off surfaces. It also has an anti-static ingredient that really seems to help keep surfaces, especially like the tv screen, from getting dirty again. And I love anything that means I don’t have to clean as much. I really liked the lid too. You have to twist it to line up before you can spray it so there aren’t any accidental dispersments and since I have little munchings about and I tend to put things in my pocket to go from one room to another that is very good.

I highly recommend this product to clean all your surfaces. The Pledge site also has a coupon you can go get. So go try or ….

One Time Review

I have been afraid of having wood outside. There I have admitted it. I am afraid of the upkeep. I have seen to many decks, siding and deck furniture that is just bleached out and sad looking. The issue is that it is nice enough to be outside in Fresno pretty much all year long. That plastic furniture has to replaced just about every year and natural wood siding looks so much better painted.

Well, there maybe a solution to my fear. I got a chance to try One TIME Wood Protector (in order to review it) and I was very pleased. To start with, you couldn’t see any brush strokes. This is a relief because stressing about brush strokes has always been a huge deterrent to these type of projects. I loved the fact that this was actually soaked into the wood. I did a side by side with a competitor’s sealer and theirs just sat on top. It also spread across my line. The material says that it covers twice as much square footage as the competitor and after watching spread I tend to agree. I also am happy about the fact it is for all kinds of wood (old, new, natural, treated) and that it works for at least 7 years.

If you want to try this great product One TIME Wood Protector is offering my readers 10% off! Just use the code One TIME on their website.

Wordless Wednesday: Ikea Table

Check out my cool Ikea table! Since there are now 6 of us in the family we needed a bigger table. I saw this one in the Ikea catalog a while ago and since I was going to be in Palo Alto for other reasons I made a quick stop by to get this from the Ikea store there. This is the big table in the Norden line. I couldn’t believe that I could get a table the goes from 89 to 104 inches for only $399.

Windex All in one Review and Giveaway!!!

So Windex has come out with a new window to help you clean your outside windows. I am horrible, I barely ever wash my outside windows because it is such a pain. But according to studies I am in the 80% majority who avoids it. So I was really intrigued when I received the new Windex Outdoor All-in-One Starter Kit.

I was really impressed how easy it was to put together. All you do is slip one end onto the other and twist. Then you just lay the pad on the end and it just velcros on. The pad is cool because 1 does about 20 “standard” windows. I am not sure what that means but it did all mine. I also like that you can put it on an extension pole to reach even further.

To use it you wet down your windows, then just wipe them down with the tool, then rinse your window off. There is a severe problem. You then can tell how dirty the inside of your windows are but there are worse problems;). This really works well. There weren’t any streaks left or any dirt. That really says something because I don’t have grass. So my windows are always dusty and just spraying them down doesn’t work. A final benefit is the price. The starter kit is only $15 and the refill kit is $5.

We here at the NerdFamily highly recommend Windex’s All in One. They have a great coupon on refill pads or you could win a starter kit here!

Glade Review and Giveaway!

With 4 kids and one of those potty training, you can just imagine all the smells my house can have. That is why I was so happy to receive the new Glade Sense & Spray starter kit. I even got it in my favorite scent of Fresh Linen that isn’t too heavy or perfumy! This product has some really awesome features. But I have to say my favorite was that it came with batteries and I didn’t have to go find any!

It sprays only when its light sensor is triggered. The only thing is if you put it in an area that gets light changes from other rooms it will spray. But I love the fact that it has to be triggered so it isn’t wasting the refills by just spraying when no one is around!

It also has another convenient feature that comes in handy when you are always in the room. That is a lock out feature. Your Sense & Spray can not be activated more than once every half hour! That is great for me because a little scent is good much too much gives me a huge headache. There is an override button though, just in case you need an extra burst! So now that you have heard how great it is how would you like to win one?
