Ziploc Giveaway!!!

I love Ziploc products!!!! So I was stoked to pieces when I got some of their great products to try!

For those of you who don’t read NerdFamily Food, I do bulk cooking and Ziploc has saved me! Some people have a lot dishes but then you have to wash them all and who needs that? I love putting loaves of bread, meatballs, ground beef and more into bags and then stashing them in the freezer. Then for things like soups, stocks and other liquid things I use the containers with the Smart Snap seal. I love them because they give everything an air tight seal! I also love the fact I can toss away the bags and don’t have to wash them up!

Some Food for Some of the Week

This week is a short and super crazy week in lots of ways! All of our activities actually start today. Added craziness is that NerdDad and I are going to San Francisco for his birthday! The up side is that I only have to plan for a few days;).

Monday: French Toast made from Cinnamon Chip Bread, Scrambled Eggs
    Tuesday: Burgers and Hot Dogs
Wednesday: Shrimp, Broccoli and Pasta in a Butter Garlic Sauce

    Food, Food, Food, Food

It is time to do a little meal planning for this week! Things will start cool and then will heat up so we will see how the cooking goes!

Monday: Eggplant Parmesan (really this time, something has gotten in the way every time;)
Tuesday: Burgers, Corn on the Cob, Zucchini
Wednesday: Shrimp, Spinach and Pasta in a Butter Garlic Sauce
Thursday: Meatballs, Mashed Potatoes and Broccoli
    Friday: Hot Dogs

    Breakfast Rice

My kids love breakfast rice! Then I found out that many people have never heard of a sweet rice or a breakfast rice so I decided to share mine! It uses one of my secret weapons, my rice maker! So I just dump everything in and turn it on! You can adjust the types and amounts. This is just a base.

    Ingredients:

3 cups of jasmine rice (any rice will work)
    2 teaspoons of cinnamon
    3/4 cup brown sugar
    1 cup raisins
    1/4 cup silvered almonds

    Process:

Just put the rice in the cooker and fill with water up to the line. Then add everything else and give it a little bit of a stir. Then turn on the cooker and leave it alone! It is that simple.

    Dinner at Limon

So tonight I took my best friend Sara out for her birthday! We decided that we wanted to try some place new. Alisa had recommended Limon a while back so we took a gander at the website. Sara quickly saw many yummy items to tempt her taste buds. So we were sold! Now I am extremely picky and I was thrilled! The restaurant was very empty when we got there so I was a little nervous but it wasn’t even 5:30 yet;). But the service was great and so was the food. I ordered the lamb shank and it was delectable. Sara got the pork chop on a cabbage, mushroom, bacon hash. She loved it! You can see that they were both beautiful! The price point is was about $50 for the 2 of us. I highly recommend Limon!

    The Light Menu Plan

No, we aren’t going diet this week but NerdDad and I will be out a lot! The kids will still be here with a sitter but it isn’t the same!

Monday: NerdDad and I are going out for our 14th Anniversary! Kids will have leftover pizza!
Tuesday: I’m taking my BFF for her birthday! Kids: Hot Dogs, Edamame, Chips
    Wednesday: Eggplant Parmesan with Noodles
Thursday: Pork Loin Chops, Zucchini Corn Cakes, Broccoli
Friday: Mom and Dad are out! Kids: Pasta Bake
