Who doesn’t like a good slap? I mean watching and not getting;). And you have to love when a good prank gets turned on the prankster;). I have watched it a couple of times and can’t quit laughing!

Ok, remember falling in love with this ring when I was just a kid. My grandmother (who was British) watched all the wedding proceedings when Charles married Diana. Now Princess Kate (soon to be queen, possibly) has it… But HSN is selling a cute copy! And it is today’s Wild Deal from Shop at Home! So after all the coupons and kick backs you get it for only $19.99!!! Such a deal.
I assume that our local CSU is not unique. I assume that they all have budget issues and crazy hiring policies. So it is hard to not look at the recent hiring of Carole Brown-Welty as Dean of Graduate Studies at CSUFresno with a lot of cynicism.
For those who don’t know, she is married to the President of CSUFresno John Welty. The announcement of her hiring was made only 1 week after her predecessor announced her departure. Apparently Provost William Covino didn’t conduct a search or look at other qualified options.
So, I am off base? I think President Welty should have insisted on Covino conducting a full search, even if his wife still got the job. Just to make sure that it was done right? I remember hearing a lot as a kid, “Avoid the illusion of an indiscretion”. But here is seems that they didn’t care how it looks. So was this straight up nepotism? I am just a hater?
I am so annoyed about this whole birth certificate issue! I think that the White House has enjoyed the controversy and the backlash. But he isn’t the first candidate to be questioned! It just wasn’t answered when Obama was still a candidate! Can we move on now?
Ok, I am not a big drinker nor a wine officianado. But since it was Passover I needed a red wine (no, I wasn’t looking for Kosher wines;).
I stumbled into BevMo looking for a Bota wine that was actually recommended by Kelly over at her Thirsty Thursday. Well, they were out of that and so I went in search of something else! Do you know how overwhelming it is to be faced with a ton of wines and no idea on what to choose? Luckily my niece works at BevMo;). I told Jennifer that I like wines liked juice wines that are sweet with a low alcohol burn. She pointed me in the direction of Vino Dei Fratelli’s Casa Rossa.
I have never had a Casa Rossa before but if this is typical, I love it! It was very mellow and fruity. It had a good, smooth finish. I had it both cold and at room temperature. I definitely prefer it at room temperature! I picked it up for $10.99 at BevMo and I am pleased at the price!
I am now out of it and will be picking it up this week! Oh, and make friends with the BevMo people! They have some great knowledge!

Well, there is a new lawsuit in the geek world. Apple is suing Samsung for copying the iPad and iPhone. (Engadget) Is Apple ramping up to sue Google? I hope not because that make life complicated and more expensive!
The Nerdist has a great piece on Doctor Who’s Sarah Jane in memory of Elizabeth Sladen, who passed away this week.
So I can’t be the only one who wants to know about the new Nintendo console, right? Nintendo’s star designer lets out some of the details!!! (via Video Game Writers)
Ok, it can’t just be me. But I can not believe that it is already spring! It means that it is time for Spring holidays, events, gifts, and announcements!
It seems like spring is one of those seasons that you always have something to celebrate or announce not matter what your stage in life is. Our first baby step into the grown up world is sending out your graduation announcements! Then you blink and you starting to plan your wedding! You can start with save the date cards and then you are sending out wedding invitations and announcements.

Then come baby showers and birth announcements! Then traditionally (I know we did), you move and move until you find a house that is made for your family. Then be responsible! Send out cards saying that you have moved!!! This is one of the least celebrated but most practical announcements;).
Then we start over with graduation announcements, save the date cards and the like for our children. Through it all we still have gifts to buy and memories to organize. With Mother’s Day and Father’s Day coming up it is a perfect time for photo books! With 3 sets of grandparents who don’t live around us, well needless to say there is a high demand for pictures! So they make the perfect gifts. Speaking of photo books….

This is a big hit at our house right now! I hadn’t heard of the Fountainheads before but I think they really can sing. I would love to hear some more from them: parody or not!
