My childhood is filled with 3rd Intifada memories. I became interested in Israel quite young. So I remember reading Newsweek and watching CNN and being place of frustration because cafes and buses were being bombed indiscriminately. Why? It amazed me that the people of Israel knew that around any corner there could be another bombing, another madman. I also knew that this was Israel’s problem. No country in the world could or would help them.
Has the Intifada come again?
March 11, 2011 there was a massacre in the settlement of Itamar. Yes, massacre is an inflammatory word but that is what it was. 5 members of a family were stabbed to death including a 3 month old! Frankly, when the story came out I wouldn’t even read anything about it. Seeing the tweets made me cry. And we aren’t going to discuss its proximity to Purim. But I was hoping it was a crazy person cause every group has one (or more) and basically an isolated event.
I can’t imagine any person I know and respect endorsing what happened in Itamar. Regardless of what your political beliefs are about Israel can anything justify stabbing 3 young kids? I don’t think so but apparently many Palestinians disagree with me.
So jump to today. There was a bus bombing in Jerusalem. 1 person is dead and 50 are injured. Add to that the fact a bomb was left by the side of a road a while back and there have been violence in Gaza. While it is claimed that all of this isn’t connected it makes me wonder. Is Israel going to be thrown back into a state of constant violence? Constant fear? I am nervous how bad it is going to get.
Am I over reacting? Or are things getting worse?

So it was hailing yesterday and I saw this today. I think it is really spring but I am not sure;).
Ok, maybe it isn’t so healthy. But Bacon Wrapped Asparagus and Tilapia over Cheesy Grits sure is yummy!
Ok, so folding sheets is not the most glamorous of subjects but…If you have beds, you have sheets. And unless you just leave your sheets on the beds until they disintegrate, you will have to wash, fold and store them somewhere. The top sheet is basic. I don’t think that you all need any help there. Fold it in half lengthwise, then lengthwise again. But the bottom sheet, that is trickier. At least if you want to get it somewhat flat.
We first go to fold the sheet corner to corner. But instead of matching them up you employ the trick. Take the 2nd corner, flip it inside out and fit it inside your first corner. Then straighten out the corner.
Then fold the sheet in half width wise, once again inverting 1 corner and tucking it up in the other. Square off your edges and continue folding the sheet just like you would a top sheet!
Then stack up all your folded components. You could stop there but I take it one step further. I place the folded sheets (and any extra pillow cases) all into 1 pillow case. It makes it easy to grab and go change beds. No more digging through the linen closet to find the matching sheet or pillow case. Especially in the middle of the night when someone has thrown up in their beds;). Easy peasy lemon squeezy!

So Entertainment Weekly posted pictures of Adrianne Palicki in the new Wonder Woman costume from the reboot  that is being done by David E. Kelley. The new show is supposed to be a serious, non-campy show. In that outfit? Really?
I feel I must take this moment to clarify. I am not a purist when it comes to the costuming of our super heroes. I have seen the hubbub over Green Lantern not being true enough, etc. I am not one of those people. But…
This outfit is so wrong! That weird shiny plastic paired with that ruby, plastic lip makes Wonder Woman look like a blow up doll! Seriously, it looks like cheap lingerie that is out around Halloween. And no, I am not saying that because I think that the costume should be more conservative. I think it should just be more true to the Wonder Woman story. Which means I am fine with the little swim suit looking costume from the ’70s show but done a little better.
Is the costume looking this bad just as a rebellion from the patriotic costume? If so, get over it David E. Kelley! She has a patriotic costume! Go with a darker blue! And what is up with those boots? Having them look like that same plastic material on the pants makes them look like a dress up costume. You know what I am talking about? The kids get those costumes where the legs have the boots printed on them and it fits over their own shoes. And the shine on the bustier is just sad. With everything being uniformly shiny, it makes the cuffs look cheap and soft too! Am I alone here?
I love Wonder Woman! Wonder Woman is the first person/thing/job I wanted to be. I had the little Wonder Woman spin down at just a few years old. I don’t just like the Wonder Woman from the show either. I have always loved her in the Justice League comics, in their various incarnations. She is that strong, moral female role model. Yes, she may be hot and in swimsuit (or a bomber jacket;) but pay her a little respect.
Maybe I am just bitter because Joss Whedon’s Wonder Woman movie never panned out.
