Doctor Strange is Finally Out!!! 6 Things You Need to Know

Doctor Strange is finally out! Nerddad and I got a chance to see it last week at a preview and it was so good!!! Ok, this is just going to be a short post because I don’t want to ruin anything for anyone. But here is a list of a few things you need to know!

1) You must see it in 3D if you can. It is visually stunning! The effects are better than any of the Marvel movies so far. We saw it in 3D and are planning on going back to watch it again IMAX 3D. Just gorgeous.

2) Really sexually pure. There is literally 1 line that says the word lover and 1 kiss. That is it.

3) A little language. There are a few bad words but nothing to bad, probably the lesser end of all the Marvel movies.

4) It is a great plot. It covers Dr. Strange’s origin and is just good. They don’t try to take on too much in my opinion. That seems to allow for better plot development.

5)Stay through the credits. I shouldn’t have to tell you this but stay all the way until the very end of the credits. Don’t pop out half way through when they show the first extra.

6)Just take your kids and go!

Saving Money with Groupon Coupons

I love Groupon. You know Groupon, right? It is the place to go for discounts on great experiences, meals, and beauty treatments. You get gift certificates for all those things at a discount because they are selling so many. But did you know that Groupon has coupons too? I didn’t until recently.

I didn’t realize that Groupon has a ton of coupons for all kinds of retailers and shops. It is a super easy section of the site to use. You can browse through coupons of course. But I don’t usually have a lot of time for that so I use the alphabet index! It is basic, choose the letter of the store and then find it in the list. With the coupons you will see if it was used today and if anyone had a problem with it.

One of the first shops that I had to find coupons for was the Naturalizer site. Of course, shoes are where I look first;). Before sitting down to do this piece I went over to research what they had available for the Naturalizer site right now (I have used some of them in the past too). They had 23 different coupons and discount offers. Including a 25% off site wide coupon, I really do need to go do some shopping after I finish this piece.

They don’t just have online coupons either. They have printable in-store coupons for me. One of Nerdpie’s favorite stores is Charming Charlie. They have plenty of on-line coupons for Charming Charlie, don’t get me wrong. But Nerdpie and I love to hit the clearance rack at our local Charming Charlie. So we always check to see if there is a printable coupon to take in and there usually is!

Happy Birthday to a Great Company

Today is Lenovo’s 32nd Birthday and I just wanted to say Happy Birthday to this company whom I enjoy! What do I enjoy about them? Of course I love the fact that I have a relationship with the company but that grows out of my deep fondness with their products.

Lets start with the Yoga line! I love the convertible laptops. I have had 3 generations of Yoga computers and they just keep getting better. While the Yoga 900 was light enough to serve as a convincing tablet, it is hefty enough as a laptop to run multiple monitors and tons of applications at the same time. I use this as my main blogging computer right now. I also love the Yoga tablets. Not only are the displays gorgeous but I have a projector. Need I say more?

The Home line of all in one computers aren’t just great computers but also a great arcade experience. Then look to the Thinkpad lines and Motorola phones. Both are rugged and powerful. The Motorola phones are so cutting edge and cool that they bleed;). No, I am not getting paid for this, I just really like their stuff.

I also love that they are doing more and more with the gaming world. At the same time they are very giving. What do I mean by that? Well, Lenovo has a Twitch channel now! As they build more gaming machines they want to engage and entertain gamers. But they are also supporting Make A Wish with their Twitch channel. I love that they choice to use their twitch platform as a way to give back!

So those are just some of the reasons I like Lenovo and home that they have a fabulous birthday and many more!

Give a Good Morning Gift

When the weather starts to turn cold I start thinking gifts. Christmas gifts, hostess gifts, Hanukkah gifts, baby showers, and (all of a sudden) weddings gifts! Yes, I said weddings. I don’t know when November meant weddings but we have 2 to go to in 8 days. But back to my point;).

I want all my gifts to have a special touch. They don’t all have to be super unique or themed but something cute that has a sweet message is great. As someone who has been married forever (literally 20 years) I think about marriage advice. Advice I have gotten, given, and even the advice I thought was dumb comes to mind. A classic piece of life was “Good mornings make for good days”. So here is an idea that can be for any holiday or occasion!!!

Good Morning Gift

The basics of this gift centers around the need to caffeinate! This is an essential for my good morning. So here are some of the things I would put in this gift.

Bodum 15 oz Travel Press Coffee Maker: Eliminate an entire piece of machinery with this on the go coffee press you can drink from. If coffee isn’t your poison it isn’t a big deal because this is great for loose leaf tea also. Hopefully you have time in the morning for a luxurious cup (if so, I am jealous). But it not, have no fear just fill it and go.

Electric Kettle: If you use a coffee press or drink tea in the morning you are going to need near boiling water. You can set an electric kettle up on your bathroom counter or in your kitchen. But either way it takes minutes and tends to be much faster than using your stove to boil water. (I don’t just use this for my tea but also to boil water for pasta. I said it was faster than the stove)

Tea: Loose leaf tea is always the best choice in my opinion. While I like herbal and green during they day, I need a good black to get my day going.

Coffee: And I mean good coffee like Godiva. This is a gift, get the quality you would love to receive! Make sure to get it ground unless you are getting them a grinder too.

Scones or Scone Mix: You need a little something to nosh on too, right? Scones are great to get your day going. But don’t get them fresh scones unless you know they can consume the next day. If they are heading out to a honeymoon or this is sitting under a Christmas tree go with an easy and quality mix.

Then you just assemble your gift! A basket is always nice but tower can be kind of cool. Those big towers of goodies we see from Harry & David or Costco are always interesting and special. So wrap your gifts separately and they stack with layers of tape in between the boxes. Then tie the whole tower together with a long ribbon.

There you have a thoughtful gift that will make a splash!

Minecraft Halloween Update!!!

We are going into Halloween, and Minecraft is coming with us! To get to the Halloween Update on the PC, follow these steps:

Open Minecraft launcher
In the bottom left, you will see Edit Profile
Click use latest version and save
Click Play!
Make new world.

The Following is a list of new mods (Some of which are in 1.10.2)

Llama: Basically a horse that looks different. It can hold a chest but not a saddle. I consider them transport mods.
Evoker: An evil villager. Can summon a line of jaws and the new Vex mob.
Vex: Little blue faeries with swords and wings.
Stray: A revamped Skeleton with new clothes and white eyes. They are very creepy!
Husk: A gray zombie that doesn’t burn up!
Vindicator: Minecraft’s ax murderer.
Skeleton Horse: A skinless horse that often causes lightning. (Erie lightning too) Unrideable.
Zombie Horse: A horse that is back from beyond the grave! (Insert spooky music here) Unrideable.
Skulker: 1 1/2 block tall and shoots you with bullets that make you fly. (play “I beleive I can Fly”)
Polar Bear: Neutral mob that drops fish.

The following are now able to be spawned:

Mule
Donkey
Zombie villager

The following blocks are new (As of 1.10.2)

End rod: Fence-like bricks that can be placed horizontally.
Chorus: A plant in the end that can be crafted into:
- Purpur Stairs
- Purpur Columns
- Purpur slabs
- Purpur blocks
Chorus root: A chorus generator that can only be placed in the end. Can not float.
Magma Block: A glowing brick that deals fire damage.
Skulker box: a block that can hold stuff.
Bone brick: A brick made of bone.
Red Nether Brick: Now in red!
Nether Wart Block: It looks like blood.
End Column: 4 bricks all in one! (Some call it fashion, I call it waste of blocks)
Observer: An observer is placed against a block, observing the block.

The following can now be placed:

Ender Dragon Skull.
End Crystal.

Minecraft Tapestry: What To Do With Your Minecraft Wool

Today I am going to tell you all about what you can do with wool. Wool is a very helpful item because you can make a bunch of decorations out of it. You can get it from shearing a sheep or from killing it. If you shear the sheep you can get 1 to 3 pieces of wool and it grows back, but if you kill the sheep to will get 1 piece and some mutton and it never grows back.

The most common use of wool is for making beds. The recipe for a bed is wood planks on the bottom ow and wool blocks on the middle row of the crafting table. A bed is used to sleep in though that might be a foreign concept to you. You will sleep until morning when you right click on it.

Did you know that you can dye wool? Because it is really helpful if you are using wool to decorate to have some color in it. You can dye a block of wool whatever color or you can dye a sheep and all wool that is produced by that sheep will be that color until it is redyed. And when you breed 2 sheep that are the same color the lamb will be that color.

One of my favorite ways to use wool is to make carpet. If you can make the dye you can make that color carpet. The recipe is wool in the middle left and middle and in the bottom left and middle on the crafting table interface. You can make a floating block by placing something over a piece of carpet. The carpet is seen as one full block so it appears to float in the air.

The last thing I am going to tell you about is pictures. These are great pieces to put on blank walls. The recipe is a wool block in the middle middle and sticks in every other spot in the crafting interface
