Bath & Body Works Deal!
Ok, I love Bath & Body Works! I love it just for me but also the foamy soap! With 4 kids you can just imagine how much I am going through;). Right now all the antibacterial soaps are on sale 5 for $15 or 7 for $20!
They are also having a ton of other sales right now including a new lotion for $1. But what makes now the time to buy is that you can get 10% back from Shop at Home right now!

Obama Caused the Downgrade of America
I believe that President Barak Obama caused the downgrade of America from a AAA rating to a AA+ rating by the S&P. I know, that is a bold statement but one I believe is true.
We won’t get into a whole conversation about if the US can really default on a T-bill since we print money…That is not the point.
It wasn’t 2 weeks ago that President Obama came out and said that if we didn’t raise the debt ceiling that the US would default on their loans. So the S&P believed him. They believed him in saying that 1 deal not passing the legislature could break the US. I don’t know if I believed him but needless his words had consequences.
Now President Obama comes out saying how ridiculous it is that the S&P would downgrade the US as an investment because we are so stable. Really? As my momma used to say, you were either lying then or lying now.
By the by, I think it is interesting that the S&P sited our leadership as the reason for the downgrade….

Black or Red List?
Why is the phrase that someone is “black listed”? When I think of black lists I think of the House UnAmerican Committee and the hunt for Communists.
So shouldn’t it be that someone is “red listed”? I mean Communists and the red scare? And if you are in the red that means you are running negative versus being in the black.
It makes me curious. So I thought I would crowd source this to you, my readers. Then next week I will right a post in which I will reveal the origins of this phrase (which I don’t know right now).
So why?

NerdPie’s Painting Tackled!
Delightful eh? A wonderfully bland form of off white builders paint isn’t it? For NerdPie’s 8th birthday we gave her a bedding set (that will appear in future posts) and allowed her to pick out some paint. After a lot of primer, a bout of stomach flu for NerdDad and a week of VBS we are finally finished!!!
It is very pink! But she is delighted and that is what really counts. Though when I am actually done decorating her room I think the pink won’t be quite so overwhelming!
Geeky Links 8/6
Lets start this week’s geeky links off with a little Angry Birds humor! For a long time I was sitting on the outside of the Angry Birds phenomenon but when I got my iPad2 I finally started playing.And unfortunately, I think I finally understand just how addicting it is!
My Twitter friend JadedDave has built a cool looking Tardis. I am not sure what he is doing with it but it is cool none the less;).
Bit Rebels have a piece on this awesome looking Biro Pencil Carpet. Basically someone has hand drawn a carpet that is so cool looking. Not my normal type of geeky material but very cool!
Bumble Bees
Aren’t these cute? The kids were delighted with this little treat and it was just assembly.
Ingredients:
Round Cookies
White icing
Blue Coloring
Yellow Coloring
Mini Twix
Large Marshmallows
Process:
Take any round cookie as a base. Here I am using premade lemon sandwich cookies but homemade would work just as well. Then I took a can of premade white icing (though homemade would have worked) and split it. Some I tinted blue like the sky. And some I tinted yellow like bees. Then I iced the cookie in blue and placed a Twix in the middle. I put the yellow icing in a sandwich bag and cut a small whole in the corner. Then just add 3-5 strips on each Twix. Then cut the marshmallows in half and stick them on the sides of the Twix.
And there you have yummy bees!
