Hell Fires Keep Burning!

So we are doing the taste test today! I love this one! Andy was talking about his special taste buds that taste things no one else can. We will see if he can measure up to his talk. Kevin guessed that clams were spinach. Sabrina said tuna but at least it was fish. Andy thought that avocado was boiled coconut. The girls won!

The girls’ reward was to go to Opaque to dine in the dark. The guys’ punishment was to hand make fruit sorbets (including taking fruit delivery) and then to shine the glassware. Dave had to sort frozen berries and Van had to see tons of pomegranate. Their lunches were blended plates of food, like risotto with scallops and duck.

The girls want Suzanne out. I don’t know if they want her out enough to sabotage themselves but they want her out bad.

Then we launch into service. Tenille is doing apps and running the reds. While Andy is doing garnish and running the blues. Tenille tells Suzanne that her scallops are to dark and Suzanne ignores her and is right. Kevin is doing the apps for the blue team. Both teams start well. The chefs have to serve the sorbet palate cleansers tableside. Kevin left Van on his apps while he did the sorbet and Van put up bland risotto. Amanda was on garnish and is messing it up while she is telling Tenille that she doesn’t need help. Andy was coordinating for the team and wasn’t clear as to what was next.

Then we get to entrees in the red kitchen. Sabrina is on meat and Suzanne is on fish. Sabrina tells Ramsay that it will be 4 minutes and Suzanne is ready to go. But then lamb comes back. Sabrina said that she pushed it out to soon because of Suzanne. So Ramsay handed Sabrina the plate and kicked her out to eat it. When someone asked Suzanne what happened she said nothing. Nothing?!?!? You are now down a person and that person is on meat. This is ridiculous. Then Tenille got put on the meat and she said 3 minutes. Then Suzanne said 2 minutes and Tenille called her on it and stuck to her guns. Andy said that he was 3 orders short on mashed potatoes. But they made them stretch. Then Suzanne holds everyone up with her fish and then she messed up the fish and everyone had to start over. Then she starts cleaning up her station while she was cooking. Then Andy ran out of potatoes. Dave ran in got the potatoes ends to make some more. How did Andy not start some more when he knew he was almost short on the other order. The red team’s fish station was sinking quick. Amanda tried to help Suzanne and thought she was finishing a piece of fish and put it up half done. Then Suzanne hung Amanda out to dry on it.

The winner was the blue kitchen because Dave bailed them out. Tenille was the best of the worst. So she had to come up with 2 to put up for elimination. I think Tenille should say the only person who should be tossed is Suzanne. Suzanne doesn’t understand why everyone is mad at her. Tenille ended up nominating Suzanne and Sabrina. But Tenille made it clear that she thinks that Suzanne is the weakest link. Then Ramsay called Amanda out. Ramsay doesn’t like Amanda and I think it is just because she so soft spoken. Suzanne said she was just pushing and everyone said that wasn’t true. Then Ramsay asked is Amanda could win it and she said she could. He tossed Amanda out. I can’t believe he did that! Suzanne should have been tossed!!!!!!

Well, maybe next week. A girl can hope.

Healthy Hell’s Kitchen?

Here we meet again… According to the description it looks like Hell’s Kitchen is going lo-cal. We will see how that goes. We will see if the red team can stop the bleeding and do better than last week. We will also see if they are going to just fight, especially after all of Tenille’s anger!

They have to create a 3 course menu that is 700 calories or less in total. The guys split up into teams of 2 to work on each course. Sabrina has taken the lead over all for the girls’ team. The guys seem to have a hard time getting under the calorie count so they couldn’t get to the cooking at 20 minutes left. But the men ended up going lowest at 595 calories. Ramsay liked both team’s appetizers. The girls’ team pork chop looked great but the guys’ pork chop looked horrible. The girls broke ahead in that course. The girls did a fruit bowl with lemon ricotta cream and coconut milk (I think I will be trying it) and Ramsay liked it! The guys on the other hand had an odd egg white crepe thing. The red team very solidly won!

The punishment was that the guys had to go shopping for the new dishes and prep both kitchens so they could open that same day. The girls got to go to Venice Beach and got a sand volleyball lesson. They got to go in convertabiles and get a lesson from Olympian Annett Davis. Meanwhile the guys had to ride this weird circle bike to go to the store, uphill. Robert ended up having to see the medic and then they sent him to the hospital. Robert was not going to be back for service.

Andy right off couldn’t remember how many scallop dishes Ramsay called out while Ariel messed up the first scallops. Then Jim messed up his first risotto more than once. Then Tenille made a huge batch of spinach instead of making it by order. Then Tenille didn’t make enough potatoes and Ramsay yelled some more. He told her that she was crap and so she told him he was crap. They end up cussing at each other and Ramsay tossed her out. He followed her out and they kept fighting. He was trying to get her to stop talking so she could go back in. She ended up going back to her station. While Tenille fought Jim had no emotion. It took him over an hour to get out a risotto and so Chef Scott replaced him on the risotto station. Kevin had to drive Dave and wait on him. Sabrina couldn’t cut up chicken. Andy couldn’t keep track of a table at a time (as in he needed 2) and then cooked it wrong at least 3 times. Sabrina sent out raw pork and under cooked lamb. Sabrina said the customer was wrong. Ramsay shut it all down.

I was surprised that they didn’t finish service. It seemed just a person on each team was the problem and they could have finished. Ramsay said both teams lost and they had to each come up with a person. They guys were trying to decide between Jim and Andy. Then Andy got them going on Robert. Since he missed the service he should be out. The girls were looking at Tenille and Sabrina.

In the end the girls put up Sabrina and the guys asked about Robert. Ramsay said it wouldn’t be fair to put up Robert but if he missed another it would be discussed. So the guys put up Andy. Andy said that he wasn’t used to the system and could learn it so he should stay. Oh come on! Andy needs to get tossed. Ramsay said Jim lacks the passion and kicked Jim out!

The women did better this week so could they be turning the corner? I hope so for their sake. But I think Andy needs to get tossed!

Hell’s Kitchen Keeps Burning

So here we meet for another episode of Hell’s Kitchen. Where we left everyone last week was Joseph calling out Gordon Ramsay. So will they fight? I think not but what I wonder is if Joseph is going to get tossed off the show. Well, lets get into it!

So out comes the security standing to Joseph’s sides. Ramsay says he has no repect and tosses him out. Then Ramsay gets back to the elimination. He asks for the nominees and why. The nominees were Lovely, Tenille, Andy and Tony. Ramsay tossed Tony out.
Then Ramsay sent Robert to the men’s team. The night is over and they are sent to bed. Only to be awakened by Scott and a fire drill complete with fire trucks. This is the lead into the next challenge. They have to work as teams to serve all the fire fighters a fresh pasta meal (chicken or meatball) with garlic bread appitizer. The first team done, wins. Before they can get their meals they have to have their appetizer first. So the women were waiting on Lovely and the men were waiting on Andy. Andy was only working in 2 ovens. 20 minutes into the challenge and no one had gotten bread yet. Ariel had to come over and take over Lovely. The guys were having the same problem of Andy not getting bread out (and I mean any) but none of the guys were taking over. The women got a lead by serving entrees first but then started skimping on the meat so they had to redo. At the end it was 6 tables left for the blue and 4 for the red. The girls were on their last table and then they got a plate back for a raw meatball. But the red team ended up winning! The girls get a spa day as their reward. The guys get to clean the fire fighter’s gear and trucks. Then they get to clean the dining room.
So Dave hurt his wrist while washing the trucks but chose not to tell anyone. Then Kevin rolls his ankles. So the medic comes to check out Kevin’s ankles and then Dave gets his wrist looked at. Both guys had to go to the hospital for x-rays and such. Dave got a slight fracture and a torn ligament. Kevin stretched 1 ligament so he got a boot. The other one is severly sprained. They are both sticking it out.
For service each team is sending out 1 member each to do table service. Dave volunteers for the blue and Ramsay picks Lovely for the red. Van is doing the apps for the guys and started them off well (except the yelling). Tenille is doing the scallops for the women and she starts off cooking the scallops in way to much oil. Robert asked Andy to help him with the scallops and then Andy was crowding a pan. Ariel and Sabrina are doing the apps but they couldn’t get scallops from Tenille. Suzanne tried to help Tenille but she wouldn’t listen to her. After a bit of a fight, scallops finally started flying out of the women’s kitchen.
On the floor, Lovely was way behind. Amanda was putting out some bad looking lamb. But Kevin was doing really well and was leading the blue team. Ariel seems to be emerging as a real leader for the red team. The guys were on their last table and Robert had forgot the salmon, which meant another 12 minutes. That gave the women the edge to finish first. But based on comment cards the girls lost by 2% on the satisfaction rating.
Ariel was dubbed best of the worst and gets to pick 2 for elimination. She nominated Lovely and Tenille (same as last week). Tenille says she is one of the strongest. Lovely says that she maintained her composure. Ramsay said he didn’t think either of them could win. But he kept them both because Joseph had to leave.
So will Lovely and Tenille be on the chopping block again next week? We shall see!

And We are Back!

I can’t believe Hell’s Kitchen is back already but I am happy! I read in my local paper that this season isn’t that good but I am willing to give it a try. So let’s get started!

We start with JP meeting all the contestants out front. JP decides to give them all some tips. It is just a series of tv screens with ex-contestants highlighting their mistakes and most notorious moments. Then they have to go make their signature dishes. I really need to get a signature dish but anyway. Kevin says he is a legit chef and has won almost every award. The first thing I think is, well I haven’t heard of you and I do a fair amount of reading. This year’s prize is to be the chef in Whistler, Canada where the 2010 Olympics will be.
We are having the red team (girls) signature dishes against the blue team’s (guys). Suzanne presents a risotto and Ramsay says that it looks raw. She thinks he is wrong but when Ramsay tasted it, the risotto was raw. Dave made ostrich and Ramsay liked the seasoning but the brussel sprouts were under cooked. Tek made a honey grilled shrimp and Ramsay liked it (first point). Louie made sausage gravy over biscuits and Ramsay haed it. Joseph made roasted veal chop and veggies. The brussel sprouts were hard. Tenille made a lamb chop with balsamic glaze (point). Amanda made margarita french toast with a tequila shot. Ramsay was shocked that she would served him a piece of toast. Tony has never been to culinary school and manages a culinary shop. He made mussels with chorizo that Ramsay liked (point). Melinda made a poached lobster and portabella muchrooms. There was just a little lobster meat so the dish looked very odd and Ramsay said so. Jim did a seared ahi tuna and Ramsay liked it (point). Then Kevin’s and Ariel both got totally shut down. As did Lovely and Andy. Then a chipotle rubbed tenderloin by Sabrina got spit out because it was to spicy. Van made seared foigras did well (point) so the guys won. The girls got to clean the kitchens as their punishments. The guys got dinner ordered out from London Hollywood.
Heather, the winner from season 2, is Ramsay’s sous chef for the red team. The girls got bologna sandwiches for dinner while the guys were outside eating. Hell’s Kitchen will be open the next night so the girls spent the night memorizing the recipes. The guys on the other hand didn’t study. The chefs got knife kits. The guys don’t know the recipes and some are hung over. Lovely on the girl’s team precooked all the fondants before service (which is wrong).
Then Hell’s Kitchen opens. Tek had the scallops raw in the first order. Jim didn’t put up the right amount of scallops for their first order. Robert from last season came to Hell’s Kitchen for dinner with his wife! The blue team send out the first order. The red team keeps screwing up the same set of appetizers while the men are starting entrees. 2 different women couldn’t figure out if the pasta was cooked. It was under cooked and Melinda threw it out instead of cooking it some more. Lovely disappeared to go sit down and drink water. So they moved on to try to get out the Salmon and Amanda had stuck it in the freezer instead of the frig. Louie couldn’t get out the lamb at all. Ramsay tossed Louie out of the kitchen and told him to get his bags and get out! Then Ramsay shut the kitchens down.
Ramsay then invited Robert back to try again since he had to leave due to health. Which means I think Ramsay is still going to toss someone tonight (probably the red team). Since the red team served 0 entrees they lost. They had to come to a decision to put up 2 for elimination. They narrowed it down to Amanda, Melinda and Lovely when they were discussing it. When they were in front of Ramsay they put up Melinda and Amanda. Ramsay asked if Amanda agree and she said no, that lovely should be put up. Ramsay called both Amanda and Melinda down. Ramsay sent Melinda home. Robert got put on the red team.
Then we launched in the second hour….
So the mini challenge is dealing with shrimp to work on paying attention to detail. They have to clean them. Lovely sat out in order to make the teams even. Tenille only got 1 shrimp in the 10 minutes but all together the red team got 44. The blue team did well, Jim only got 2 but it was enough to win with 45. The punishment was to prep shrimp for shrimp cocktail for the dining rooom and prepping the lemons to. The blue team was going out for a seafood lunch and eating dessert on a yacht. Joseph is a little intense at lunch. Back in the kitchen Tenille tried to take control to prove her worth.
During prep Robert steps up to lead the women. In the blue kitchen Kevin takes a grapefruit from Tony to “show” him how to do it. Then Ramsay jumps on Tony 2 seperate times for not segmenting them over a bowl to grab the juice. For service they are going to do a table side scampi. Van and Tenille are going to do the tableside service. The scampi should coordinate with the other apps.
Tony was making scallops without anyone else being ready. Lovely was trying to cook on a stove without a flame. Then Tony’s scallops were cold so Kevin took over. Over on the red team, Robert was making a mess of the risotto. JP trys to help Van and Van won’t listen so he goes to the wrong table. JP says there is a language barrior because Van is from Texas. Tenille is under cooking shrimp. Van was dropping stuff. Then JP and Van got into it. I mean JP was pushing and the whole bit! Ramsay had to step in. JP called him a girl. Tenille got way behind so the blue team was making entrees while the red team had to wait. Andy made chicken, cut into it and it was raw so he cut it up and put it in a skillet. Then Sabrina also put up raw chicken. Kevin took over Tony’s fish station again. Then Kevin made raw fish. Then all the guys got on the fish station. Then Lovely started making raw fish and black fish but not cooked right. So nothing was going out of either kitchen.
So Ramsay had them make shrimp cocktail for everyone. So then food went out without any cooking needed. Once everyone got shrimp cocktail Ramsay shut down both kitchens. Each team needed to come up with 2 names for elimination.
So Tenille says she did a good job and represented everyone well. She says she doesn’t know that the lady was pregnant. Lovely said she shouldn’t have to go up. Sabrina was still fighting/denying the raw chicken thing. Tony stepped up and said that he should be put up. It was suggested that Van be put up for the fighting with JP. It was also suggested the Andy go up for meat.
The women nominated Tenille and Lovely. Ramsay asked Joseph who the nominees were and why. First Joseph said they knew who they were. Ramsay asked again and he named Tony and Andy. Joseph just kept mouthing off and wouldn’t say why. Joseph was cussing at Ramsay and fighting with both Ramsay and everyone else. Ramsay kept pushing him to answer so Joseph took off his jacket and stepped up to Ramsay and asked him to take it outside.
And it ended there…… See you next week!

Hell’s Kitchen Finale!!

This is it! The final part of Hell’s Kitchen’s finale! I think I am pulling for Paula but I must say that I liked these two finalists the best out of the group! We will see if the “sous chefs” will be the end of 1 of them. I have to say that I think Danny got the better group.

So they all start prepping and Lacey screwed up the creme brulee. I wonder if Paula has to keep Lacey? It might be better to toss her out. During the tasting Ramsay thought Paula’s fish was a bit dry but the second batch of creme brulee was completely screwed up. She has to rethink her menu. Danny got dinged for a falic looking dish and an under cooked poached pear. His pear sounds so good!

Paula’s dining room looked great and she was calling it it Sunergy. Danny was calling his the Velvet Hammer. I agree that it sounded like a porn movie. I am not digging on the hanging fish that he had either.

Then service began. Danny started with a loud group but Paula’s was quiet. Andrea screwed up the first scallops and Lacey tried cover it. Over on Danny’s side Carol was getting backed up on the apps. But apparently Andrea may be the downfall of the red team. Giovanni was being a huge problem and he says in the confessional, he doesn’t care who wins.

Lacey was lost on garnish. I think that Ramsay has to remember when he judges that even he couldn’t manage Lacey. The whole team seemed to have to get on garnish to dig Lacey out. Danny finished serving before Paula but not by much.

Of course they did the door reveal. Danny won!

I think they were both very good and I am sure that Paula will have a restaurant somewhere soon too.

Hell’s Kitchen Finale Part I

So here we meet as we enter the finale. Who is going to get stuck with Lacey? Or Seth? Or Colleen? This is going to be interesting.

So we start with the infamous screen drop. Then both of our finalists proceed to get blato. Danny wanted mounted fish in his fine dining restaurant. Ick! Paula seems to have a real picture where as Danny seems to be a little more unknown.

Paula and Danny then go off to make their menus. Once the menus are done the finalists are off to Atlantic City. But first they get their 2 “helpers” each so that they can work while the finalists are gone. Paula’s help is her mom and sister. Danny’s help is his girlfriend and his father. They then had 5 minutes to communicate their vision. So of course, as soon as the finalists are gone there is an issue. Paula’s side can’t use real candles so her sister oks fakes even though she didn’t want fake. Danny’s girlfriend came over and started changing things a bit. Then they webcamed together with their loved ones.

Then Danny and Paula had to go to a meeting with the Director of Marketing and 500 staff members of the resort. I am guessing it is a challenge that effects the picking of sous chefs. They got to meet the COO of the Borgata. Ramsay handed him their menus and asked him what he would order off them. Once Larry said what he would order Ramsay said they had 45 minutes to make it. Then executive chefs of different restaurants in the resort tasted their food. Paula won the first course. Danny won the second course. Danny’s beef won the 3rd course and thus the competition.

The next morning back in Hell’s Kitchen Ramsay has a row of domes. It is our former cheftestants. It is Andrea, LA, Ben, Lacey, Giovanni, and Carol. Carol was shocked that she was left for the last 2 with, of course, Lacey as last. Andrea, LA and Lacey are Paula’s team. Danny has Ben, Giovanni and Carol.

And this is where we break. See you next week for the conclusion.

Hell’s Kitchen 4/30

We are down to the final 3! I am glad that we are finally rid of Ben. I think Paula is a good bet because she hasn’t been a problem but has been consistently good. But Ramsay has shocked me before. There was a promise of a treat and the preview alluded to people. Having watched all the other seasons I am predicting it is family or loved ones but I have been wrong before (I just don’t think I am now;).

And I was right!!! Not one of them seemed to have a spouse. Danny had a girlfriend but hmm… I guess it does make sense if you are going to be willing to pick you life up and move it. Now I predict that they will cook for them and the family will determine the winner. But that is just a guess.

Next morning and it is challenge time. They have to serve lunch to 100 “distinguished” customers. They each have 90 minutes to cook 100 portions of a lunch dish (tasting portions). Andrea was freaking a bit. The guests were chefs from good restaurants in California, all Zagat rated. I recognized quite a few chefs and restaurant names. Our final 3 looked as if they might wet themselves and I don’t blame them. 76% of the chefs disliked Danny’s dish. Over 76% chose Paula as the best!

Paula is getting the full Hollywood treatment and a surprise to come the next day. The punishment is in 2 parts. They have to clean up the dining room and reset it for the next day. The other part is doing the laundry and starching up everything. Danny is taking this lose really hard. The fun part of Paula’s win is that Jean Phillipe went with her. The other part of Paula’s reward was going to Good Day LA. Then Andrea and Danny got to clean all the screens in the dining room (which conveniently had Good Day LA on it;) and the floors.

Tonight is the final service before the finale so they are all going to take a turn on the pass. Paula seemed petrified as she took the pass. She failed Ramsay’s first test of the wrong puree but she caught Scott’s attempted switch out on the soup. She seemed to recover from her start and did ok. Then is was Danny’s turn. He also seemed to stumble at the very beginning. Danny didn’t catch the order test and he was putting apps on the wrong plates. Danny also didn’t catch the potato problems. He did seem to hit a stride. Andrea stepped up for her turn and didn’t seem to have any problems finding her assertive side. But Andrea didn’t spot the fact that Scott switched out dory with halibut. Then she seemed to go a little to far on the assertiveness. Scott was cussing all ways to Wednesday and it was not going well when he said he was going to punch her in the face. Overall the service was a success. We see such a small snippet of service, we have no idea who has done best on the pass.

Ramsay sent them back to the dorm for each of them to figure out who they think shouldn’t be in the finale. Danny picked Andrea and Andrea picked Danny. Paula picked Andrea. Ramsay picked Paula and Danny for the Finale.

I agree with his choice! I am looking forward to next week’s finale. But if Paula remains consistent I think she will win.

Hell’s Kitchen 4/23

Sorry for the delay but I have been out of town! But lets get to it! Hell’s Kitchen is down to the final 4. Will Andrea go home or will Ben screw it up even more?

So Gordon Ramsay did the taste and make challenge. They all had to recreate Ramsay’s Fish Stew. Danny won but was really close to Paula. The thing that made the difference is that Paula used water as the base instead of fish stock.

The punishment is polishing crystal and silverware, cleaning the carpets and prepping the kitchen for that night’s service. Danny got to ride in a biplanes with Ramsay.

All through the punishment Andrea is seeming really beaten down. But my question.. Is she really or is it a ploy? Ramsay gave all of them sets of cookware out of his line before service also. Then Ramsay told them that they all were starting with clean slates. Then service started.

Ben was calling out the wrong order pretty quickly. But the first apps went out well. Ramsay was really cheering them on and then Ben had a little hiccup. Paula was being a bit slow. Danny was also a bit slow on the garnish. Andrea seemed to be rocking out the meat station. There was a marriage proposal in the dining room and things were going well over all. We get close to the end of service and Andrea can’t find 2 wellingtons. So Danny and Paula go and make 2 wellingtons from scratch (roll it in pastry etc).

Ramsay was mad that they didn’t perform 100% the whole time. He sent them all back to the dorms to come up with the person to be on the block. Ben says that Andrea should go because he is many levels above her and has run a big kitchen. Andrea said that Ben should be up. Danny also said that Andrea should go and said that she didn’t have enough experience. Paula says that ever station that Ben has been on he has had problems. Ben said that it is because he isn’t a line cook. They couldn’t come to a consensus. So Ramsay calls both Ben and Andrea to the front. Ramsay chose to send Ben home.

Finally!

And then there was 3….

Hell’s Kitchen 4/16

So here we meet again. According to the previews, Ramsay is going to close Hell’s Kitchen but I think that will all be short lived and we will be back to business as usual. But we shall see.

So Ramsay tells them he is shutting down Hell’s Kitchen but they are going to Borgata in Atlantic City so they can get inspired. I knew it!!! So they arrive there and are greeted by the “Borgata Babes” (ug). I do have to say that it was an impressive place. They have all the big chefs and nice stores. They got to look about the place and relax. I have a feeling that there is a challenge coming.

They all go to have dinner with the higher ups in the food aspects of Borgata. Robert go up and left a few minutes in. He started to have chest pains and went to the hospital. What bothers me is not one of them got up to go see why he left or if he was coming back. Now he didn’t make a big deal out of it or say anything but still. If I was eating with anyone and they just dissapeared from the room, I would definitely go check in on him. Robert had to stay over night in the hospital. After a couple of days he got to come back to Hell’s Kitchen but he wasn’t all better. He has pericarditus and so he wasn’t going to continue.

Now that they are back in the thick of it. The challenge is to make a signature dish that could be on their menu at the Borgata. Ben tells the camera that his dish is above and beyond anything that is currently being done at the Borgata. What a punk! Everyone’s seemed pretty good except Ben’s. He made a dish where he cut off the prawn from the tail and then put the tail on the plate and not the prawn. Andrea won the challenge and immunity. Everyone seemed to think that Andrea was next to go so everyone is a bit annoyed.

And then service began. Andrea got scallops back on the first table. Ben was having a hard time keeping up with the orders and gave Ramsay cold puree. Andrea was slow on the fish and she was kind of dragging Paula down.Ramsay found out that Andrea wasn’t cooking on High. Ramsay said not to wait for Andrea. Ben kept messing up the garnish by not following what orders where working and was actually doing them wrong. Then Ramsay tossed him. So Ben went and collected himself. Andrea sent out a raw salmon. Ben seemed to get better after his break. But Andrea was turning out more raw fish unless it was tuna and she was burning it. Danny and Paula seemed to both be having a real decent service.

He told them to go upstairs and figure out which 2 should be up for elimination. He didn’t say they were getting eliminated, I wonder if no one is going to get eliminated because Robert went home. Paula and Ben got nominated. Ben said he should stay because he has never given up and tries to better himself. Paula said she should stay because she has always been a solid performer. Then Ramsay told Paula to get be in line and called Andrea up. He went through everthing wrong with Andrea but said she was still safe because he was a man of his word. He kept Ben because Andrea was worse and since she was staying he was too.

So who will leave next week? Ben or Andrea? Both of them still think they can win.

Late Recap on 4/9 Hell’s Kitchen

Sorry it has taken so long to put this up. I had to go out of town this last week and then again for Easter. It can really put a cramp in the blogging;). I am wondering if the Red Team is going to flow a little more smoothly now that Carol is gone. Let’s see!

Ramsay starts off the day asking who the weakest chef on each team was. Paula was asked and said Andrea while Danny was asked and said Ben. So Ramsay called them both up and asked why they should stay.He told them to take off their jackets….because they were part of the finale 6 (so they can get the black coats, duh). That leads into the 1 individual challenge. They each get 14 ingredients and they have to each make a dish using them all. Ben won the challenge because he was the only person who actually cooked the drumstick off the chicken. So he picks Robert to go with him and Ramsay to San Francisco. Everyone gets to do delivery day. Giovanni just kind of gave up on the punishment and while he didn’t completely quit he was just futzing about. Of course, at least one delivery was short or so they thought;).

It is going to be interesting to see how they all work together in 1 kitchen. Ben’s chicken dish is also going to be on the menu. Out the shoot Giovanni was opening the over and Robert turned out rubbery scallops. Giovanni had to redo chicken because the leg was bloody. Giovanni said that he wasn’t familiar with chicken. Huh? Andrea was just having issues. She was starting stuff to early and then not listening to the tickets. They told her again and when she still didn’t know, Ramsay kicked her out the front. JP was talking her into going back. She told Ramsay what was going and he let her back in. When Giovanni messed up the chicken (again) Ramsay yelled at him. Then Giovanni yelled back that he wasn’t the bad name. So Ben gets on the station to help Giovanni and then Ben messed it up too. The over all team work was so off. No one could get the food done together. Then Giovanni had put a hot tray in the cold frig and then it burned Robert (bad).

Paula was told to put up 2. She put up Giovanni and Andrea. Ramsay sent Giovanni. That wasn’t surprising. He could do well sometimes but he just wasn’t consistent. But I do think that Ramsay is gunning for Andrea and possibly Ben.

Then Ramsay did call them all back into the dining room. He is shutting down “Hell’s Kitchen”. I am wondering what that is going to mean.

As we are at the final 5 I am interested to see what happens. See you later this week!
